Work out the formula, then build the ions: drag in atoms and move the electrons.

How to use

  1. Read the compound name and type its formula, then press Check formula. Numbers are turned into subscripts for you.
  2. Drag the atoms you need from the tray onto the board. Drag an atom back to the tray to remove it.
  3. Click a ring to add an electron. Use Remove mode, hold Shift or right-click to take one away.
  4. The charge of each ion is worked out and shown outside the square brackets.
  5. Press Check ions when you are done.
